I need the performance of an i5 4590 (3.3GHz) (for the rift) but I'm wondering if I overclocked my 965 (stock 3.4GHz) could it match the 4590? nm wise its 22 vs 45 I believe, but I do have double the L1 and L2 cache. I could probably get the clock up to a stable 4.0-4.5GHz, Think this is enough?

If it could hold for a month or two It would give me that much more time to save for a new board and an i7.

You will not be able to get anywhere near i5 levels of performance. Sure OCing the 965 is great, and does help in gaming (running at 4.2 on mine) but it is impossible to get to the performance as a 4590.
