Overclocking a core 2 duo E6000 with Asrock asrock g41m vs3 r2.0 mobo

Hello everyone.

As the title says i'd like to know how to OC my core 2 duo E6000 with Asrock asrock g41m vs3 r2.0 mobo.This will be my first time overclocking so i want to be sure that i'll do it correctly.I couldn't find any video guides for this specific motherboard so i'm making this forum.

You will need an aftermarket CPU cooler. Here is a Core2 overclocking guide. There probably is nothing specific to that motherboard but all Core2 chips overclock via the FSB.

I urge you not to overclock on that board. 2+1 terrible quality phases as far as I can see. You really want 8 or more for solid Core 2 overclocking, or at very least split 4. Definitely not 2. I wouldn't do it man.

See if you can find a decent P45 board used with split/4 or more VRM phases and OC on that. Should be able to find one cheap on ebay.

So if i overclock my cpu with this mobo i might fry it? :/

No but you might blow a mosfet.

Even if i OC it a bit and the tempratures are fine?

MrSprinkle's correct, its a crap board for an OC. But on the other hand its old kit so have a go and see what happens, it could be a great learning experience for you.
