Hi.
Not sure what I'm doing with OCing but it's set at 4.5Ghz @ 1.192v using this setting here> https://forums.tomshardware.com/.../overclocking-i7.../ .
My current settings (screenshot are not the latest):
I also uploaded a video to YT using OCCT
View: https://youtu.be/0Ix4KFCi_W0
as RealBench would halt with a keyboard press but I didn't press anything! I also encoded multiple videos for over a several hours using HandBrake and it didn't BSOD.
Originally I was just using the Extreme Tweaker, selected XMP then Tuning wizard and left it but never really had a proper go until now.
Before this though, It was reaching 100c Tj max at -/+ 100% load. I was using a Corsair H80I AIO. Maybe it has something to do with the CPU Temp possibly? I've tried with No XMP and with it, Still BSOD. My Laptop can convert successfully HQ or higher but takes too long even though it's an i7 and 16GB ram.
Then I purchased the Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE Air Cooler along with some Thermo Grizzly Kryonaut.
The temps are much more reasonable with close to 100% CPU load now. Happy with my purchase of the Peerless. I noticed while taking off the Corsair that the black plate was loose but the block spacers were tight. So don't what was going on there.
I sim race online using VR and process videos using HandBrake so I want to push for 4.6Ghz stable, USE XMP or Manual Speeds and call it a day.
What are your thoughts and what should I try? Recommendations for CPU Benchmarking similar to RealBench?
How do I get the CPU to throttle back while at idle? Speedstep is Enabled. Has it something to do with Min & Max CPU Cache Ratio?
What BIOS version have been found stable? On 3503.
Apologies for all the questions but I'm trying to understand and having a go OC.
