Overclocking AMD FX 6300

Hello,

For a while I have been wanting to overclock a AMD FX 6300. The problem is, I know very minimal about overclocking. I'm hoping someone could help me with lots of detail.

Motherboard: 760GMA-P34 (FX) (MSI-7641)

Processor: AMD FX 6300 /w h100i water cooled CPU

Power Supply: 750W

Your motherboard is not recommended for overclocking due to weak thermals and no heatsinks on the vrm's. Since you have a good CPU and cooler for overclocking you could consider upgrading the motherboard to a good one, for instance the MSI 970 gaming, Gigabyte 970A-UD3, Asus M5A97 EVO/PRO or any 990FX motherboard.
