I have an Amd FX 6300,and so far i couldn't overclock it over its 4.1 Ghz turbo limit.I wish i could overclock it more,maybe close to 5Ghz or at least at 4,5 and to be stable.

My computer's specs:

-Motherboard : Asrock N68C GS FX;
-Amd Fx 6300 Cpu(Vishera).six cores, 3.5 Ghz stock frequency(4.1 Ghz turbo mode);
-4 Gb ram Kinstone 1333;
-videocard Sapphire Hd 7790 2 Gb;
-Psu : 500 watt;

Can anybody tell me how i should do to keep this cpu stable,at 4.5 Ghz frequency?When i overclock it over the 4.1 Ghz ,on turbo mode,i get freezings and bsods.It s very annoing.I wanna mention that,at 4,1 Ghz frequency,i use 1.425 voltage and the cpu runs smooth and cold,at 15*C -30*C(i have installed an NorthQ Max Tower for the cooling).

Thank you!

u need to turn off turbo and overclock from bios using multiplier. if i was u i would watch loads of videos on youtube even if they not ur own cpu just to get an idea. what cooling are u using if ur still on ur stock cooler then invest in a new cooler hyper 212 is cheap and prob one of the best coolers out there.

I've been noticing lately, EVERYONE is expecting their cpu to overclock close to 1GHZ
you have to remember 1Ghz is a LOT

if you have 3.5 an overclock to 4.0 is still a moderate overclock.
don't expect to overclock to 4.5-5.0 and be stable, without having high voltage and high heat.
You'll definitely need a good cpu cooler.

at 4.5 Ghz you're voltage is probably going to at 1.6 volts.

and at those voltages you're just killing your cpu.

stick with 4.1

I read on Amd's official page about this processor that the voltage for turbo (4.1 ghz) is 1.425 .At this voltage and frequency,the processor runs very cool and smooth.

I am using a NortQ Max Tower cpu cooler,and in full load i get the maximum of 40-45*C.

Thank you guys,i'll try to overclock it,stoping the turbo,then i'll come back with a result.I'll overclock it close to 5Ghz and i will upper the voltage to 1.5 .

Update :

Ok,so i turned off turbo,and i raised the cpu frequency clock from 200,to..whatever,i can't remember precisely the frequency,but it multiplies with 20 and comes out 4.5 ghz.

First time,with the 1.450 voltage,i got the bsod after trying to start a game.then i raised the voltage to 1.500.

For now,my cpu temp is 23*C .And i can play the games,for example,it doesn't bsod anymore.
