Overclocking an fx-83500 help!!

It's my first time overclocking anything! I wanted to overclock my cpu (AMD fx-8350 8 core) using AMD's overdrive I've tried it a few times off of tutorials and i just keeps flickering the screen i have no clue what that means i need help on this issue please!
 
Solution
First ensure your Bios is up to date if not already and clear CMOS.

Go into your Bios>AI Overclock tuner and set for> D.O.C.P.
This will set your system bus and ratio automatically in conjunction with the RAM you are using.
Conduct a stress test to establish system stability at stock frequency as your baseline for OCing.

Download AIDA64 and HWMonitor and put them side by side on your desktop.
Go to Tools menu in AIDA64 and select the stress test.
Check boxes for CPU, FPU and Cache and run the test for 10mins. Stop the test if temps reach 80C.
At the 10min mark, take screen shots and upload images to your favorite host site or you can use IMIGUR to host the files. In IMIGUR select your images and obtain the BBurl as a link here for...

Once I have this info we can do some OCing. Do not make any arbitrary changes in Bios or OCing on your GPU.
