hi
i tried overclocking recently and only increased voltage for CPU and ram by the minimum, that was after i increased CPU multiplier to 38 for a i5 4670K ( Geil Evo veloce 16GB ram) and H87 mobo.

after applying the settings PC got blue screen and restarted i tried many things to fix including going back to old settings and uninstalling the overclocking software( intelXTU). but didn't work. So after i did a windows memory check and it said i had hardware problems. So i took out one stick of ram and its been working fine since. I'm now on one stick and haven't gotten the blue screen yet. Was the ram the issue or is it coincidence
Please enlighten me to the issue at hand and if i need a new ram.

Thank you

Hi and welcome to Tom's forum.

I think that should be a coincidence, did you tried a BIOS reset? What happen if you install the "bad" stick in another RAM slot? Keep in mind that H87 chipset isn't the best one for overclock an unlocked CPU like that 4670k, many (almost all) of the overclocking options are locked, I would try to change to Z87 or Z97 if it's possible.

i did bios reset. when i remove all my ram sticks and put one by one, its just one of them that gives me the BSOD but the other works fine. When PC turn on, on the desktop its says looking for updates rather than veryfying installation.( that is with the blue screen ram).
I am going to buys a new mobo and see what happens but i think ram is the problem.
