Question Overclocking Asus Rog XG7AQM

How do i get the 270hz from the Asus XG27AQM, i can t acess the overclocking setting on the monitor menu because it s not highlighted so it skips it, i read that i need to turn off g-sync but it doesn t show up on the nvidia control panel and i have already installed the latest drivers for the gigabyte rtx 3080 10gb gaming oc.

Are you running HDMI or Displayport?

What is the model of the cable you are using or are you using one that came with the display?

Im using the hdmi that came whti the display.

So, without looking too far into it, I would suggest that you try DP. A lot of HDMI cables, and a lot of graphics cards themselves, don't support that refresh rate when using HDMI, depending on the version that your card and your display, and also in some cases your cable, support. Displayport however, so long as you don't have ancient hardware, almost certainly will, again, if it's not an extremely old card or cable.

DP is simply better all the way around and I'd assume your monitor supports it. I'm not sure it supports that refresh rate, especially since it requires it to be "overclocked' and isn't it's native refresh rate, with HDMI.
