Ok I have a MSI Kt3 Ultra2 motherboard and an Ahtlon XP 1800. I have some no-name crappy pc2700 memory too. =P I was overclocking and I got to the setting 11.5 x 152 and when it was posting it said I had a Athlon XP 2400 in there. Then when I was going to check my email the computer just rebooted outta no where. I turned the FSB down to 150 and the post reports it as a 1800 again. Im just wondering why it said I had a 2400 and why it rebooted outta nowhere.. (imma n00b @ oc'ing)

Could be overheating, underpowering or unstability. I have no clue why it detected your CPU ar XP2400 as it didn't run at the XP2400+ speed of 2 GHz.

My CPU fan spins so fast that it creates a wormhole

Alright... Well I guess I'll just keep it @ 150 x 11.5.... It runs fine at that and has never shut off outta nowhere. Do you think a bios flash will fix teh problem with it saying 2400? Thanks =)

Well I flashed my BIOS to the latest and I still got the 2400 problem.... When I put it at 152 x 11 it starts to show as a 2200(which is correct I think) Anyone know whats wrong???

Well if you only look at the CPU speed and not the FSB it should be XP2000+... but maybe because of the higher FSB Gigabyte interprets it as XP2200+. Not that it should give any problems as it is only a performance rating.
