Hi all.
I have question that's been bugging for the last few days. For which I cannot find the answer to.
I havery just bought a 2nd stick of identical RAM so I can benefit from dual channel memory.
Crucial 8GB DDR3-1600 UDIMM CT102464BA160B CL11
The reason why is because I have an AMD A8-7650K with R7 series APU and I've read he fader the RAM frequency the better the iGPU performance.
MSI A68HM-E33 V2 Motherboard.
I know the motherboard supports up to 2133mhz but all I want is to be able to overclock the RAM from 1600MHZ to 1833MHZ.
My question is: can this, what would be considered value RAM (no fancy heatsink, just green chip with mem blocks) be overclocked?
Considering it is Crucial RAM and not some obscure brand. I also read most good brands of value RAM can at least be overclocked 1 step up.
Has anyone had this experience or may simply know?
Thanks in advance for your help. I know it's a budget gaming pc but this is all I can afford for now so buying Ballistix at 1833MHZ OR 2066MHZ is simply not an option for me.
Thanks again and happy o'clocking!
Jo
