This is for a friend that wants to go all out. We will be probably have it running Linux and get our games through Steam [or something like that]. Woud like to get your feedback over this build if there's anything we could change to get the best bang out of our [my friend's] buck. He has a ceiling of 2000 USD [but said he can stretch it by a bit].
Things that he wants:
- an i7 [not an AMD fan]
- single GPU [does not like SLI/X-fire]
- an SSD [boot drive]
- portability [he get around a lot]
Here's what I came up with: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/2sKam
- Intel Core i7-4770K 3.5GHz Quad-Core Processor
- Swiftech H220 55.0 CFM Liquid CPU Cooler
- Asus Z87M-PLUS Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
- G.Skill Trident X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-2400 Memory
- Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
- Western Digital WD Black 4TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
- EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3GB Video Card
- BitFenix Prodigy M Midnight MicroATX Mini Tower Case
- SeaSonic 660W 80+ Platinum Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
TIA Toms!
