Hey I finally decided to go out and build my own computer, I picked up a celeron 800 and a gigabyte MB, the MB can with gigabyte's really cool eazy tune 3 program, which lead me to wondering exactly how much I could over clock my 800, right now its running at 833 but I'm pretty sure I can get a whole lot more, the only cooling I have right now it the stupid heatsink/fan that came with the processor. So this leads me to my question, Exactly how much could I over clock it safely? Thanx for your help.

I love deadlines, I esspecially love the whooshing noise they make as they go flying by.

Most Coppermine processors, including the FC-PGA Celerons, will go to around 980MHz. A few will go to 1050MHz. I would try for 1050, since that allows you to reach the next standard bus speed, putting your PCI cards back at their stock 33MHz bus speed. Try it at 1.90 or 1.95v. It will lock if it overheats, no damage done, get a good cooler. I recommend no higher than 55C MAX full load temps for long term use.

Back to you Tom...
