Hello, I have an ASUS P8Z77-V LK motherboard and a i5-2500K CPU with a GeForce GTX 970 video card. I was trying to overclock my CPU in order to see if there were noticeable benefits while gaming.
I was trying to overclock the CPU from 3.3GHz to 4.2GHz but I'm not 100% sure my changes in the BIOS worked correctly. When I run Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology Monitor 2.6 and CPU-Z with the CPU under normal load I get the following:
When I use Prime95 to run a test, Intel(R) Turbo Boost Technology Monitor 2.6 and CPU-Z give me the following:
Does that mean that I was able to overclock the CPU to 4.2GHz like I wanted to?
Also another related question is the fact that in games like Shadow of Mordor, Shogun Total War 2 and Just Cause 2 at 1080p on max settings I didn't really see an improvement on FPS.
Only Rome Total War 2 and GTA 5 had an FPS improvement, and it was only between 1 to 4 FPS. Is this normal?
