I am wondering...is it safe to try overclocking my i5 4690k even FURTHER than a 4.2? I have been running 4.2GHZ on stock voltage stable for a while now.

Edit: I want to try ~4.8?

well i wouldnt recommend upgrading to a 4770k jst yet... maybe wait a bit more.. even if u get a 4770k and overclock it still the psu problem is there... adding more monitors may decrease gaming performance so wouldnt recommend that either... So yeah a new psu a better quality one so u can overclock ur spu a bit more to get more performance would be better..... There shouldnt be any problems with performance for now right??? why overclock to 4.8ghz 4.2ghz is okay

okay so ur cooler is good but the psu isnt... its not the wattage its the quality... CX series was mwant to be on budget builds... If u take it to far with that psu might damage ur pc. so better stick with 4.2ghz or if u can upgrade ur psu to a tier 1 or 2 psu...

Know my system to recommend a psu?

I didnt really plan on a "budget" as I didnt think my power supply was a problem.... now its trying to decide between:
- Getting a better psu so I can overclock this one more
- Getting a 4790K
- Or getting 2 more monitors...
