Overclocking ddr4 ram to 3000mhz

Hi

I've got a stable overclock on my gpu and cpu. Now I want to do ram as the main game i play (pubg) is very ram reliant for building and cities and have seen many videos of ram overclock boosting fps quite alot in these areas.

I have 16gb ddr4. 2400mhz xmp progile. I've got it to 2666 without voltage increase. Anything past that I can only boot back to bios.

To hit 3000mhz is it safe to add voltage? How much is too much?

What is the exact RAM you have? AMD CPU or Intel? Please list all system specs.

DDR4 is safe up to 1.4V (I think), but I stick to 1.35V. You can also loosen timings.

Example:

My DDR4 2400 C14 1.2V overclocks to 3200 C16 1.35V

Oh sorry. MB is Asus strix z270f gaming
Cpu i5 7600k Overclocked.
Ddr4 is Gskill 2400 fml 2x8gb.
Ok that's perfect info. At the 2666mhz I believe it was only 1.2v as well for mine in bios
