Hi
I am just a noob and a beginner on overclocking. I have a couple of questions about overclocking Evga GTX 1060 SC card. This card is already factory overclocked to 1607mhz base and 1835 boost. Some people mention that they overclocked this card to 2125mhz and I understand that 2125mhz has to be a boost clock.
I managed to overclock the base at 1763mhz and boost 1991mhz without any crash in furmark. Furmark stress test with extreme burn in showed that gpu clock started at 1985 and as temperature went up to 72 degrees the gpu clock went down to 1885mhz( gpu boost 3.0) At 1776mhz base and 2004mhz boost, running furmark nvidia driver would crash.
Then I ran unigine valley and it keep resetting the overclock back to default without any driver crash until I reduced the overclock to 1724mhz base and 1952mhz boost. But even at this overclock it reported that gpu was running at 2113mhz to start with and even at temps of 72 degrees it stayed around 2075mhz
So my first question is that people who are saying that they managed to overclock this card upto 2125mhz, are they talking about copmlete manual overclock or are they saying this including the boost from gpu boost 3.0.
Second question is about that furmark ran at a much higher overclock(base 1763, boost 1991) but only reported that gpu was running at 1885mhz at 72 degrees whereas unigine valley won't run at those clocks. Unigine valley only sustained an overclock of base 1724 and boost 1952 but still boosted the gpu up to 2113mhz. So which overclock value should I use? Is there something that I am not doing right?
Thanks
