Hey guys, I wanted to overclock my i5-7600k,I have a hyper 212 evo cooler 550w power supply.I wanted to know How far can I go with the overclock without it either having a meltdown or blowing up. Thank you for answering if you can.

Solution
I've never seen any overclocked system meltdown or blow up. What will happen if the overclock is configured too high for the thermal and electrical capabilities of the CPU and motherboard, or the cooling system, is that you'll likely either experience severe VRM throttling, damage the VRMs/voltage regulator, or cook the CPU.

I would not recommend taking your 8600k past 4.5Ghz if it is going to be a 24/7 overclock and this system is your daily driver, without FAR better cooling than you have. I'd actually be surprised if you can do 4.5Ghz on that cooler without the sheer noise levels driving you insane. 4.3-4.4, full time, on all cores, would be a lot more realistic. It also depends highly on what case and how many/what size case fans...

No cooler is worth a tin sh#! if there is not plenty of cool air coming in and ALL of the hot air going OUT, of the case.

Haha, Nice joke.:) If you overclock too much, your windows will crash or just fail to boot up. Unless you manually disable the safety measures built inside manually.

How far can I go with the overclock
For i5-7600k, 4.5GHz on all cores should be easily achievable. 4.8GHz+ if you're experienced and lucky.

Three things two keep in mind: Don't use more than 1.40v VCore. Keep it cooler than 80c. Every chip is different in it's OC potential so, test and optimize.
