My first question is whether or not this is going to be possible an a budget of $850? Second, if it is, is the system I am proposing below work for my needs? Will I be able to overclock with the proposed low profile cooler? Any advice is welcome. I'm not new to technology but this is my first pc build from scratch.

Proposed Build:

Processor:
Intel Core i5-3570K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 GHz 4 Core LGA 1155 - BX80637I53570K - $220

CPU Cooler:
Scythe SCBSK-2000 Big Shuriken 2 (Need low profile cooling for GD05 case) - $44

Motherboard:
Gigabyte Intel Z77 LGA1155 AMD CrossFireX W/HDMI,DVI Dual UEFI BIOS ATX Motherboard GA-Z77-D3H
(is this overkill for what I'm doing?) - $120

RAM:
Patriot Memory 16 DDR3 1600 Extreme Performance Viper 3 Series Kit (PV316G160C9K) - $70

HDD:
Western Digital Caviar Green 2 TB SATA II 3.5-Inch Internal Desktop Hard Drive Retail Kit -
WDBAAY0020HNC-NRSN - $100

SDD (OS):
Crucial 64 GB m4 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive SATA 6Gb/s CT064M4SSD2 - $67

PSU:
Antec EarthWatts EA-650 Green 650 Watt 80 PLUS BRONZE Power Supply (I'm very flexible on this unit,
I just want something powerful enough that is pretty quiet) - $50

GPU:
????? - need help with this. Will the onboard graphics suffice? If not, suggestions within budget please.

Optical:
Undecided, not crucial at this time. BD RW prefered but BD ROM will work, approx. $80 (suggestions???)

Tuner:
Suggestions????

Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered!!!

I don't see gaming in the system usage, so I see little point on a motherboard with expansion slots for SLI/Crossfire, so yes I would say it's overkill.
Get this instead - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813157304&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-na-_-na-_-na&AID=10446076&PID=3938566&SID=

You'll want low profile RAM as well so the heat sink won't conflict with any heat spreader.

Your SSD has too little capacity for my liking, you'll find it insufficient in the long run and the OS itself will more or less take half of the space.

PSU is overkill, a 500-550w unit would be more than enough to power up your whole system even under full load.

Onboard graphics would technically work, but I wouldn't go that way since your CPU will be under even more strain. Just get a discrete low-end entry level card like the 6670.

Thank you excella1221...I'll definately consider the motherboard and PSU. In your opinion though, will this system work well for my needs? Will i need to overclock the CPU?
