Overclocking FSB on Soyo Dragon +

I wanted to know if anyone has some insight on this but I was thinking about overclocking the FSB and the memory. The bios has a adjustment up to 233 mhz. Would I have to get faster memory like PC2400 or higher to handle the extra bus speed, or do I overclock my PC2100 which I have done but I think 150mhz is all I am getting out of it which is decent. Anyhoo let me know where I can buy a clue????

You mean you can adjust the FSB to 233 (466) MHz, that's really high. PC2100 RAM is designed to run at 133 (266) MHz and PC2400 at 150 (300) MHz. The RAM which can handle the fastest FSB is PC2700 166 (333) on this moment. I think it's very difficult to run at 200 (400) MHz FSB because your PCI Bus speed will also be much higher and a lot of PCI cards don't like this, with a 200 (400) MHz FSB your PCI will run at 50 MHz instead of the normal 33.3 MHz, that is to high for most cards.

BTW If the board has an adjustment to 233 (466) MHz this will NOT say that it also is able to run at such high speeds, most CPU wont hold such high FSB without mega cooling and voltages mods.

My case has so many fans that it hovers above the ground 😱 .

how do you know how fast the PCI and AGP buses will run when u increase the FSB?

For a FSB of 100 MHz the PCI speed is 1/3 of it: 33.3 MHz and the AGP speed is 2/3: 66.7 MHz.
For a FSB of 133 MHz and higher the PCI speed is 1/4 and the AGP speed is 1/2. Some mobo's change the PCI and AGP divider to the 133 MHz setting if you pass the 120 MHz.
