Hi Guys,

I'm a novice to overclocking, and i have this setup:

MOBO: Gigabyte GA-970-Gaming (Non-SLI)
CPU: AMD FX-8300
Air Cooler: Deepcool Gammaxx 300
GPU: Aorus XTR GTX 1060 6GB
RAM: 2x Hyperx Fury 4gb ddr3 1866
PSU: Huntkey GP 550

I was able to overclock CPU to 4.2 ghz @ 1.368V, but i'm not sure if this is safe or if it can reach 4.4 ghz without the mobo burning :O

(at hot days, reaches almost 60 degrees, 50-55 degrees at usual)

Should I keep it at that or change to liquid cooling? Thanks!

Solution
I'd stick where you are .
That's a decent overclock , fx 8 cores tend to need big voltage hikes to get 4.3/4.4 & the performance gain isn't worth it at all
All AMD's FX series can not really keep up with the new heavy AAA games.
Overclocking the hell out of them does not bring much beside only putting extra weight on your electricity bill.
Investing more and more money only for some extra clock-speed is thus worthless.
I would simply keep it as it is and start to make plans on upgrading the rig. e.g. to a R5 1600.
