My FX-8350 is @ a stable 4.7 GHz with just an old EVO 212 cooling it. (single-digit thermal margin!) About the same as when I had my Corsair H60 AIO cooling it. But of course, the OC you get will depend on the silicone and your expertise.
Well stock is 3.5Ghz, with most FX cpu`s you can get at least an extra 800Mhz overclock with a slight voltage bump on the vcore of the cpu.
That is with a good expensive air cooler.
With a water cooler you can get 900 to 1000 Mhz
Depending on what motherboard you have, and the chip set on it, plus a good quality power supply.
And a high cpu vcore setting of about 1.55v.
When you get to about 1.55v on the vcore the cpu temp tends to rocket quiet high.
But 800Mhz is about what most people can expect out of there FX cpu when overclocking it.
