Overclocking FX 8350 and question about voltage

Hi, everyone. I've been trying to overclock my computer up to 5.0GHz but I was only able to get it stable at 4.6GHz without changing the voltage. I'm new to overclocking and I don't really know what voltage I should set it to. I'm using a ASRock Fatal1ty 990FX Killer AM3+ motherboard.

max safe voltage I believe 1.5 as set by AMD. you are around 1.3 right now I would think? raise the voltage as little as possible, as the temps are going to rise with it.

hard to say, they got pretty far with no extra voltage. AsRock's fatal1ty line is pretty solid.

My Sabertooth and ASROCK EXTREME 9 both made it easily to 5 ghz on Big Air Cooler.

Here's my tooth , my son has it now.

well you might want to ramp up the fans, and perhaps go push pull, but that is a good cooler. just remember those chips should not go much over 70C.

That board is decent for overclocking , but the Sabertooth , Crosshair and Asrock Extreme 9 are superior.
