Hello 🤗
So I have a really strange question 😅 I'm Kinda a new to overclock and stuff, I Know hardware but Overclocking was really far away from me...
Now I tried that out and i like it kind... So sorry if it's dum question:
I have g.skill 3200 16-18-18-18-38 ram it was working with 1.35 our of the box
Now i found out that that ram can work for me
3800 - 1900 bus - 18-21-21-21-40 and it's stable!

You guys think I should go lower? On MHZ to Lower timings ? Caz on 3800 there nothing I can lower no more ..

On of the tech guy I Kno from work told me to get 18-18-18-38 but I don't think this cheap xxx of RAM can get something like that 😂

Totally forget my system specs:
Ryzen 5 5500
Asus tuf b450m
G.skill 2*8 3200 (Overclocking now)
Rtx 3070 FE
800w PSU 80+
And really good cooling inside case : 4*140mm 1*120mm fans 3*140 intake 1*140 and 1*120 out..

What sort of voltages are you pushing on the memory sticks? As for your PSU, you didn't mention the make and model of the unit. You merely stated it's advertised wattage and the 80+ efficiency rating.
Nothing extreme 1.35.
psu is Zalman bronze IDK how i checked decent one I'm sure 3070 will not need more than 650 …

Lutifuj, you are answering my second question thanks a lot.
I will ask you one more question if you don't mind, off-topic of overclock but.. 🥺 please...
As I mentioned, I have founders edition and it's not too hot card. But i live in hot as f county so at summer it can be 38 to 40 outside 🤣🤣🤣. At summer it gets 73-74° I got advice to undervolt GPU it was 1.1 i put 1.0 it works perfectly without loosing MHZ... And its around 68-70° 1500-1600rpm in winter it's 65°, you think I should apply new thermal paste ?

Ram chips are binnned and the better ones are used in faster(higher priced) ram.
You could just be lucky.
Test the ram .
Run memtest86 or memtest86+
They boot from a usb stick and do not use windows.
You can download them here:
If you can run a full pass with NO errors, your ram should be ok.

Running several more passes will sometimes uncover an issue, but it takes more time.
Probably not worth it unless you really suspect a ram issue.

At the end of the day, could you detect any real world benefit?

You overclocked. It worked. It's apparently stable. It's a decent OC bump. Anything more will require a re-evaluation of timings because so far you've only touched upon the Primary timings. You've missed out on any gains to be had with tweaking Secondary and Tertiary timings, there's like 40+ of those and they can have a much larger affect on memory performance than merely bumping speeds or changing Primaries.

I'd be hunting down ram OC videos from Actually Hardware Overclocking (that's buildzoid), he has a Ton of info about the Samsung and SkHynix ram, it's needs, boundaries, do's and dont's and what means what, what is irrelevant etc.

You will need Thaiphoon Burner and/or Zen Timings or other such before going any further, if you choose to do so as you'll require much more specific information.
