Hey Guys,

I'm looking to overclock my graphics card after successfully overclocking my CPU, but I'm admittedly new to the process. I understand from research that there are a ton of programs that put stress on the GPU, but what i cant seem to find is how to stress the memory. In furmark, for example, when you run a burn-in, the memory load for me at least stays around 5%. I'd appreciate any advice. Thanks.

Solution
I run it at least 20 passes.
You can also Try MSI Kombuster. It also has error checking.
Sounds like you did your homework and are on the right track.
Keep an eye on the temps. The card will automatically down clock if it gets too hot ,negating your overclock.

Hey Rick, you helped me in my other thread re overclocking my cpu. Maybe you can help me again? What would be the ideal settings for OCCT in order to ensure there are no errors? I have run numerous benchmarks other than that. I'm pretty confident I have a stable overclock. My graphics card is a EVGA gtx geoforce 680 FTW 4GB card. I went with a conservative 24/7 overclock of 70 Mhtz for the GPU and 200 mhtz for the memory. I know it's different for each card... but does it sound like I'm on the right track for a stable overclock? Thanks for any help you can give me.

EDIT:: Don't know if this helps, as I said I'm a beginner, but I used Crysis 3 as my final benchmark and was able to run it with almost everything maxed, and average about 50-60 fps.

Thanks for the quick response. I'm getting some nice gains and its already a great card as it is so I think I'll just keep stability testing a conservative OC. Kind of a unrelated question but is thete any reason why my cpu fans would be spinning fast? I noticed that its spinning loud and fast even when I'm idling. any ideas as to why this would be?

Nevermind, the fan settings in Corsair Link (software that came with h80i cooler) changed the fan mode to "fixed" at 2000rpm for whatever reason. Changing the profile to default fixed the problem.
