Hello, as I said, I'd like to overclock my GT 640 1GB GDDR5. But would it work out on a 250w PSU?

My specs are:

LG 22" 1080P FULL HD TV
MSI 0A48
2GB DDR2 667MHZ RAM
ASUS GT 640 1GD5
INTEL PENTIUM D 925 3GH
250W PSU.

Also what happens if my PSU won't handle the overclock and exceed the limits?

Solution
250W is relatively low Wattage. Moreover, OCing it won't give you any noticeable increase in performance no matter what you get the OC to, on an entry level GPU. 95W TDP CPU and 75W TDP GPU, you're almost on the limit, its better to keep it safe and stable with stock clocks.

I actually put up the expiriment to the test and set the Core Clock to 1206 (From 1061) and Memory Clock to 5300 (From 5023) and the consumption doesn't go higher than 190W Because I have the GDDR5 1GB ver. which TDP is 49w :D
