i never overclocked anything before and im asking for some help i just built a new PC the other day and it has a 650W psu and a gtx 970 8gb and the cpu is a i7 3770k clocked at 3.5ghz. now i would love to get it to 4.0ghz if it possible but if not let me know here is my cooling stuff.
ok so i have a front fan that is intake and a back fan that is out-take and it seems to be pretty cool i also have the stock heat sink for the i7. heres a screenshot of my PC's temp

let me know if i can overclock it at all or if i need to get a new fan or heatsink (water cooling is not an option)

OK, I recommend you getting a better cooler for that CPU, you will want to keep temps as low as possible. The more hard you go on you OC the more heat your CPU will produce. Intel stock cooler wont really cut it.

well having a good case air flow is always good, you want to keep your case cool. Heat is the worst enemy of electronics. But when you get a good cooler for the CPU the cooler will make sure your CPU runs cool.

ok i think my case has nice temps because of the intake and outake fans + im adding a third outake fan and i also have very nice cable managment with a moduler psu so i have nice air flow so hopefully the temps are good enough

that sounds good.

The mobo supports it. Now the 212 is a little big yes, but you can measure its height, open your case and measure from the mobo until the height of the cooler, that will give you an idea.
