Hi guys,

At the end of the month I'm planning on getting a GTX 770 as an upgrade from my current GTX 460. My question is would I be able to overclock my i5 2500k from 3.3GHz to something like 4GHz when I install this card without over taxing my power supply? I currently have a 650w psu installed.

My specs are:
PSU: 650w (not sure about the branding but it says ZS series on the side of it)
MOBO: Gigabyte Z68AP-D3
GPU (once I upgrade): MSI GeForce GTX 770 Twin Frozr
RAM: 8GB

I have overclocked several i5-2500k and most of the time you can lower the voltage a bit (1.2 / 1.3) and overclock to 4.2 with stock cooler and the chip didn't go over 65 degrees.

Download prime 95, coretemp and msi afterburner to monitor your temps so nothing goes up in smoke.

Thanks guys I'm using the rest of the month to clue myself up on overclocking before I do anything, was just worried I might over tax the power supply. Thanks to both of you for putting my mind at ease.
