Hi , i need detailed bios settings for the above cpu .

CPU: i5-2500k
Motherboard: Biostar TP67XE
CPU Cooler: CM Hyper 212 EVO
RAM: Kingston HyperX 2x4GB 1866mhz
GPU: EVGA GTX 750 ti
HDD: Toshiba 500gb 7200rpm
PSU: bronze+ 480w
Casing: CM Elite 431 Plus ( Mid tower )

Any vCore higher than 1.35 will reduce the lifespan of a Sandy CPU. 1.35 has proven to be a safe bet over the years and it is enough for most chips to reach 4.5 GHz (except the lemons). Every chip is different, of course, but I strongly advise against pushing 1.4 and up volts.

I got 4.3GHz out of mine with stock voltage. I would lock the CPU to the stock voltage and raise it slowly(100MHz increments) until it becomes unstable. Then either increase the voltage slightly until it's stable (but staying under the limits the others have said) or back the frequency back down to the last stable one.

Let me rephrase my question . May I know what you changed in your bios of the above said motherboard to achieve 4.3 ghz with the i5 2500k ? I'm new to this and I do not know which settings I should change in this motherboard's bios to achieve overclocking . Therefore I can't test it myself . It's been fails as I followed steps from youtube videos and I'm afraid of destroying my cpu any further. Help me .

Wow it finally runs. So , if I wanna step it up to 4.3ghz , do I increase the vcore ? And i set my smartfan to auto tho .

You might have 1.26 vCore in BIOS, but your LLC or Load Line Calibration will push voltage further to ensure it does not starve. Unless you tried a real volt meter except software, I will not believe you.

4.8 GHz at 1.26 is, well, rather impossible. Some of the best results ever for golden chips are 4.5/4.6 GHz on stock.

Running Prime 95 and it's 1.28 volts the only changes made were multiplier to 48 started the Vcore at 1.32 and worked down till it failed at 1.27 then bumped it back up to 1.28

Do you have the O.N.E. overclocking feature in your BIOS settings?

Yes or No?

I will not waste my time typing out specific settings until you answer my question?

Here a better picture from a screenshot showing the CPUID, settings, while running Prime 95.

I need to change my PC specks to my current Asrock Z77 Extreme 4
This is why I haven't upgraded my processor their no reason to I still have overclocking room!

I guess you missed the fiasco with Z77 Extreme4 and 6 reporting lower voltage than it should.

All ASrock Z77 Extreme boards have this issue. My CPUID tells me 1.17 under prime, but i know it is 1.192 due to much more accurate volt meter reading.

I would guess this might come as a nice slap in your face. Most likely you have been running 1.4 all along. Get a volt meter and measure it.
