At the moment I'm testing 1.32V with 4ghz.
Everything has failed from 1.27V running x264 stability stress test while doing around 20 loops.

I'm wondering if 1.32V fail if I should just stop now, and go back to 3.8ghz with 1.27V, which was the the stable overclock I had before I tried 4ghz.

You shouldn't even be able to OC with that mobo (would need Z87/Z97 to overclock the mulitplier). Are you trying to overclock by changing BCLCK? If so, you won't be able to overclock more than a couple percent regardless of what voltage you use, and in general BCLCK OCing is not recommended except on newer platforms (Skylake an onward I believe).
