Overclocking I5 4690k With Asus z97 A

Hello, I finally decided to get the i5 4690k. I would like to overclock it to about 4.4 - 4.5 GHz, with the Asus z97 A.
How do you think the overclocking process will work with this motherboard?
How likely I would succeed to overclock it to this clock speed if I am a first timer?
And should I maybe get the Asus z97 PRO (but only if it is necessary)?

Depends on your cpu cooler and your cpu. You may get a bad overclocking chip.

I am going to use the Corsair H100i. And if I get a bad chip what is the max OC?

Depends on the chip. You can't really say until your test the chip. Some chips may require a higher voltage to run at a certain speed.
An average i5 4690k could do 4.4 Ghz maybe at around 1.2-1.25V whilst keeping under 80C temps at 100% load.

Thank you very much for your help, should I maybe get the Asus z97 pro for better overclocking (if necessary)?
And if my motherboard gets burned while the overclock, is it possible to replace the motherboard with the same CPU? (isn't there a bond between a motherboard and a CPU when attached?)

The Asus Z97-a is already a decent overclocking board. If you want to get the Z97 pro then you could.
You can swap out the cpu, there is no "bond".
