Hi guys

I decided to overclock my CPU but I'm a complete noob at it, I never did this! so do you guys think with " CORSAIR Hydro Series H100i Extreme Performance Water/Liquid CPU Cooler " can I overclock my CPU to 5.2 Ghz? and will it be safe? usually my PC is on all the day, I only shut it down when I sleep and turn it on when I wake up! sooo I don't want to overheat it!

How far can I go with 4690K?

MOBO : Gigabyte Z97 D3H
CPU : i5 4690K

Solution
5.2 GHz is an extreme over clock. I would only do this to see what bench marks you can get but for every day use I would probably keep it around 4.7 GHz just so you can prolong your CPU life.

That being said it depends on what you are doing on your computer. Are you running BOINK SETI@Home or FOLDING@Home or any kind of bit coin miner? If not then you will probably be ok because your system should down clock when idle unless these things fire up when your computer is idle.

Also, if you do get it past 5GHz please post your results because that is a bit of an impressive overclock. They have a 5GHz club for those who have CPUs up there.
