I have been experimenting with overclocking my i5 8600k with Asus prime z370-P
i tried at 4.8ghz with 1.325v and after playing Rust for a few hours i noticed a bottleneck with the GPU. the fps went down to 60-80 when it usually is 100-160.
so ive changed the voltage to 1.335 but i am wondering may this damage my CPU?
My idea was that i was hoping for better stability with a little more voltage.
i can get it also to 5 ghz but then with 1.410 v and ive read that it is too much voltage to be safe.
Ofc i have stress tested with Prime95 for 1-2 hours and no problem.
My temps goes to max 71 when playing demanding games (like Rust).

whichever way you put it... it just sounds like something's throttling your performance.

have you checked your VRM temps?
have you done the CPU only and left out the rest of the settings?
which CPU cooler do you have?

I would suggest to run through a youtube guide with your motherboard overclocking, just to see if there are any steps that you have missed or overlooked.
