i just used the built in overclock profile in asrock bios. is it safe to use the ready made overclock settings for asrock? im now overclocked to 4.4 ghz but when i play games my cpu temperature goes up to 90. is that normal?

anything above 80c and you need better cooling. what kind of cpu cooler do you have on the 2600k?

its generally frowned upon to use the automatic overclock settings as they are dirty, the vcore is too high.

your 2600k is a beast, it will go to 4.4ghz easily with a safe 24/7/365 vcore and stay under 80c with a simple $30 cooler master hyper 212 evo.

im running on a stock cooler. is it safe to overclock it to 4.4ghz with stock cooler? what is the safe or best setting for running a stock cooler? thanks for recommending me the cooler nikoli ill be ordering it soon.

no don't go that far with a stock cooler. you can probably get to 4.0ghz though. reset the as rock auto overclock settings and jump into your bios and change the cpu multiplier to 40x and then save you, you won't have to change anything else. when and if you get an upgraded cpu cooler, you can go farther. just make sure your staying under 80c under heavy load.
