Overclocking Intel HD 3000

Hello everyone!

I have an Intel HD 3000 for my gpu, and I am on a laptop.

Yes, I know overclocking on a laptop is not advisable, but I would still like to experiment for when I need a little boost for gaming.

I also do not want people to tell me to get a new laptop or buy a gaming rig; I already know it's a terrible graphics situation and I do plan on getting a gaming rig as soon as I can, but for now this is all I have.

So, I was wondering if there is any way to overclock the Intel HD 3000? I was hoping for something like EVGA precision but for Intel HD graphics chipsets, but I couldn't find any. I have done a lot of searching, and I thought I should ask you all if I missed anything cool and useful. I have tried the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility, but because of my being on a laptop, the tool will not allow me to change clock speed. I guess it's trying to tell me something.

Any advice or help is appreciated, so thanks in advance!

Its not overclockable.

the igpu already overclocks itself just like turbo core does. but regardless of if you can overclock it more, you are only going to go from really bad to pretty bad. i doubt you will notice a difference other then displayed fps.

You could try MSI afterburner...

It's not possible with any software oc like the msi afterburner, evga precision, etc.
You'll need a card for that.
What you can do is put in the intel display graphics panel, the slide for performance instead of quality.

Its not really possible unless your motherboard chipset allows you to overclock. I know you can do it on desktops but I really doubt overclocking the igpu on a laptop

If your bios doesn't have the options than you can't.

Overclocking refers to non-stock settings and turbo is a stock setting so is not overclocking. Think of turbo as a variable speed feature like speedstep or cool n quiet but in the opposite direction.

Turbo is a gimmick.
It's like saying you have a V8 engine that runs on only 4 cylinders most of the time, but when you floor it, it turns on the other 4 cylinders.
Thats the "turbo boost" or whatever... mostly a power saving feature...
Anyways, knowing intel stuff, overclocking is not possible in the normal sense on a intel laptop.
You could prolly hack the BIOS but thats in another realm, and if the clocks are locked in the hardware then you really won't go anywhere with that.

overclocking is also when you raise the clock from a none base point. which is what turbo boost does. the only difference is who is doing it. overclocking in the traditional form is what you say but the same principles apply to turbo boost.

i believe that only works on extreme intel cpus. aka the unlocked one and not low end ones.

Yes you can

I overclock mine in conjunction with lucid logic MVP so I get the best of all 3 cores,
cpu overclocked to 4.8 1.325v at the moment main graphics overclocked and my intel 3000 overclocked, 2700k cpu

That's software but it can also be done inside the bios.
It all depends on your hardware because you may not have the ability to do it with what you have.
