So i bought Assassins Creed Odyssey. Its has performance issues and is cpu heavy so I wanted to overclock mine. I enabled Intel turbo boost and while it worked temps were way too high 80+.

So i decided to do a manual overclock but for some reason in the settings I cant edit the base clock or the multiplier. I did put settings on advanced in the bios.

Any help would be very appreciated. Id be happy to provide any further info you may need.

Been a while since I messed with Haswell, but as I recall you had to enable XMP on ASUS to get the advanced overclocking features to work.

Every motherboard is a little different, but some of the general guides may be of use to you.

My favorites, goes into a lot of detail, even though I used an ASUS board myself.

Z87 and Z97 are nearly identical.

Thanks a lot Eximo for that detailed and very good info. Ive managed to get a manual 4.4ghz overclock stable with a max temp of 81 degrees in a Prime95 stress test. 70 ish while gaming.

Ive figured out why i
couldn't edit the base clock or the ratio. For some reason even though everything else has a mouse click action, the clock and ratio both need a + or - to rotate through options.
