Greetings, I have an old laptop about 5 years old, still like a brand new, applied thermal paste and fan clean 2-3 months, no cpu/gpu or internal problem at all. I'm planing to overclock it so i can reach a better amount of framerate in-game but the question is it safe to overclock it a little bit or not?
here are the specs and temp detected (5 minutes after gaming 30 minutes)
(default)
Base clock : 672 MHz
Memory clock : 900 MHz
Shader : 1344 Mhz
game tested:
Tomb Raider (2013) = MIN:27/MAX:40/AVERAGE:34 (normal/high settings/ x4 anti-aliasing)
Call of Duty BO2 : MIN: 55/MAX:120/AVERAGE:72 (normal/high settings/everything else off)
Dying Light : MIN:14/MAX:38/AVERAGE:29 (the differences with low/normal settings are common with frame rate and temps)
Also I want to share my problem with you guy. If anyone who owns the same specs has the same problem.sometime when I play a game the laptop doesn't overheat directly about 5-10 minutes it forces the power off.I have reinstalled the latest drivers also under-clock the card and removed CD drive which is useless (I though it consumed power that's why i took it off also i have Dual fan pad and i have removed the plastic part under the laptop for more airflow and cool the heat sink). This happens about 1/40 times.
Sorry for my bad English or incorrect grammar and again sorry for making such a huge post I though it would be better to find solution and not spam again like this.
