Yup heres another post looking for a really good mobo for my i7 4790K. I've read so many threads like this but none of the posts are really recent. What I'm looking for...

In as little words as possible... I'm a numbers man so i like high results/scores in benches etc.

1. Needs to give sweet OC results (average).
2. Needs to be great for gaming.
3. Trying for Black & Blue theme like my build but proving hard (most good mobos are black & red).
4. For price.. I'm not loaded but I'd consider all options.

I'll just paste in my build it's easier.

Full Build:

CPU: i7 4790K with XSPC RayStorm
MOBO: ASRock Z87 Ex4 (mobo I had spare so I used it for a while)
RAM: 32GB HyperX Beast 2400 DDR3 (4x8gb)
GPU: MSI R9 295x2 with stock cooling (anyone know if this card has a ref pcb?)
PSU: Corsair RM1000
CASE: Phanteks Enthoo Primo (black).
OS: Win10 on 500GB Samsung Evo Pro SSD (2x 250GB in RAID0).
Storage: WD Red 3TB HDD, Seagate 3TB HDD, WD Blue 1TB HDD.

There's unneeded info but it's there anyway.

Thanks.

This ASRock Z97 Ext9 suits my build with the color but I know there a better boards out there.

Like this MSI Z97 Gaming 5 and this Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 5

I did read this thread too but would love to hear from experience with the specific boards you've recommended.

The Mod or the standard? I read a few bad reviews so I was sceptical. The MSI and Gigabyte boards have really good reviews and are in the top 1-10 Bench scores on catzilla.com where I've seen none of the ASRock.

I'm really considering your suggestion so thanks for your input.
