Overclocking Monitor Risks?

Basically, I've been looking though forums like crazy lately, trying to find a definitive answer. Everything is skewed and I've found many contradictory statements. I have a PB278Q; a 27 inch, ips, 60hz monitor by Asus. My main concern is "Bricking" it. I've read many posts in which people have claimed to have ruined their monitors, however as many have stated, it may be unlikely that it is actually ruined and could be fixed my reverting the settings to default with another monitor. Basically, I wanna know if it's worth the "risk" or if there's really any risk associated with the monitor itself.

the first question you should ask your self is.. will reward be greater than the risk?

ive over clocked my monitor. i didn't gain much hz when i did it wasn't even worth my time

i went from a 60 hz clock to 80hz. what happened was my monitor froze for a few seconds and went back to the native hz settings.

short answer you'll be fine
