Question Overclocking monitor

So since I can not overclock my monitor my friend told me that my monitor needs to be connected with a dvi-d to be able to overclock so since my monitor doesnt have an dvi-d port and my gpu does if I buy the dvi-d to vga cable would that work?Whenever I try to OC my monitor rn on vga it shows me some weird pixels from 61 to 75 and above it just shows me no signals btw so would that thing work?thanks!

OC´ing a monitor depends entirely on the panel quality=will it play along with performing beyond the specifications. If it doesnt, then it doesnt, and you cant do anything about it.
