[SOLVED] Overclocking monitor

Hi, do you think that it would be harmful to overclock my monitor ( https://www.asus.com/Displays-Desktops/Monitors/TUF-Gaming/TUF-GAMING-VG249Q1A/ ) from 144hz to 165hz, as it is advertised, or would it cause any type of long-run damage to it?

I don’t believe there is any chance of damage, I believe it means that the 165Hz is not 100% guaranteed.

However I highly doubt you could tell the difference. Try dropping to 120Hz and see if you can tell the difference from 144Hz. If you can’t tell the difference loosing 24Hz you won’t notice adding 21Hz.

No, there is no issue of overclocking refresh rate, there are many manufacturers putting 144hz standard and 165hz overclock, and that's perfectly fine .
