Hey guys,

I am definitely a newbie at overclocking, and have been constantly reading on how to do it. Here is what I got and what i need:

I have 8Gb Corsair XMS3 DHX 4GB
MSI P45 Diamond Mobo
E8400
xigtamek cooler
asus 4870

I got my ram to OC to 1600 mhz fine by changing timings 9-9-924 at 1.8v
I cannot get my e8400 fsb to go above ~365

I have read that you can change the fsb to 400 and that will put the 8400 at 3.6ghz, but i cannot get there!

Am i missing something? My mobo allows me to change everything. Could it be the green power that my mobo has?

someone hopefully can help me, i just wanna get to ~3.8 - 4.0 if at all possible

oh, and i am using xp 64

Stock, it was set at 5:8

My RAM is running fine right now.

Are you saying i should change the ram to 1:1 and then up the fsb for the cpu? I have it at 1:2 right now and it is running at 1333 ithink, not 1600, if i were to get the fsb to 400, then id be at 1600

Only OC one thing at a time. Start with 1:1 and OC the CPU until it's stable, then you can OC the RAM if necessary.
