So recently I decided I want to OC my Core i7 930, and I already tried overclocking to a stable
2.9 GHz, but I wanna get it to 3.2 However I am kind of scared cuz on CPU-Z it says my motherboard only had 12-23 multipliers, and I put it to X22 multipliers and my bus speed is 133.55. So my question is, is there a way to increase the multipliers or am I just stuck with those options. If you haven't noticed I'm a noob at OCing.

Im not sure if ill be able to help. But i used to have an DO i7 920 @ 2.6 stock i think by memory.
I was using a h100i water cooler and i managed to get a stable clock of 4GHz with stress testing in prime i was getting temps in the 80's while gaming i was getting 50's to 60's i think.
Also off memory i think the 930's were in the same boat when it came to over clocking. I had a gigabyte board and vengeance ram at either 1600 or 1866.
Ill find the link i used to adjust my settings and ill repost (just at work atm) i hope this will help you.

Cheers

I have OCZ Gold Edition Low Voltage OCZ3G1600LV2G PC3-12800 1600MHz 2GB X3 (6GB) DDR3 Memory and I'm trying to overclock my Core i7 930 currently at 3.01GHz. And I wanted to know how much I could overclock my memory too before i run into crashes. Memory: http://www.electrobyt.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2636

My multipliers is set to 22 (but on CPU-Z it says I can go to 23) but when I go to my bios it only goes up to 22 😡, and my bus speed is set to 137Mhz and my RAM speed is set to 1646Mhz and my RAM Voltage is at 1.5V (At least thats what CPU-Z says).

I also had a Gigabyte X58A UD7 but then something happened and it didnt work.

Oh also I have this Heat Sink http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835118051, my brother took out the stock Fan and put one Scythe Ultra Kaze using zip ties. anyways is this heat sink good for OCing? I want to get up to at least 3.2 GHz. My temps at idle are around 45-50 Celsius

I have an Asus P6X58D Premium, the thing is, if I increase the bus speed the RAM speed will also increase and i do not want that, and then on the other hand my temp is already at like 45-50 degrees celsius at idle. my core # 1 is always at 50 degrees celsius
