Overclocking my fx 6100 on my M5A78L/USB3 Mb safe?

Hello. I was just wondering if it would be safe to do a small overclock on this mobo [M5A78L/USB3] on my fx 6100 i have decent water cooling but from looking around the internet it seems like its it's impossible to overclock with that mobo any help would be nice. thanks

That board isn't really designed for OC'ing. But since it is an Asus, it should be fine for light OC'ing using the multiplier alone. I'd stay away from increasing the core voltage since the VRMs have no heat sinks to dissipate heat. And the 4+1 phase power is going to limit you anyway.

Ah right thanks for the reply, yeah i was just planing to get the max mhz for the stock voltage. would raising my mhz but keeping stock voltage generate much more heat or should it be okay?

plus if you dont mind helping me here but i overclocked to 3.7mhz on stock voltage ran prime 95 for 45 mins all was stable loaded up swtor which worked perfectly before now is very choppy an looking like its being fast forwarded haha not sure what caused it tho?
