Hi all,

I was thinking about overclocking my gpu also by increasing the voltage. Now is the voltage of nvidia cards capped. Where could I find what a safe voltage is for my gig g1 gtx 970? I wanted to flash this bios to increase my voltage: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/327032-gtx-970-owners-club/

The green one seems a good first step. Can someone give me advise about this? Does this give a significant performance increase? (Like more than 5 fps in unigine?)

Thank you!

The Maxwell architecture can handle 1.3v easily, before any degradation. The G1 970s have the voltage limited via the bios, but with a modded bios, a lot of them are running 1.312v. And yes, from stock, it should increase your performance significantly...

Thanks for the reply. Do you have any benchmarks results in which you can see improvement between stock and your OC?

60.7fps at 1410hmz which is stock boost oc and 62.6fps in Unigine Valley at 1550mhz. Not a whole lot difference, I might even underclock because I dont need all that power and will get a quieter pc instead.

If you want a good bios, go to this link. The LTT bios versions are...okish.
