Overclocking my integrated graphics on my Intel G3258 cpu?

I didn't overclock the cpu speed, but I DID overclock the graphics to 1.45 ghz. I then stress tested it using MSI Extreme Tuning Utility

The temperature at stock graphics (1.1 ghz) got up to 46*C, overclocked is 52*C (1.45 ghz)

The temperature didn't rise very much and is well within safe ranges, does this mean I can overclock the sh*t out of the integrated graphics as long as it remains a safe temperature?

Or does it mean the "CPU Temperature" field that MSI Extreme Tuning Utility reports does not account for the integrated graphics temperature somehow, and that I may fry my cpu? Is there anything important that differs when overclocking a cpu's integrated graphics compared to the cpu itself?

I just tried to overclock the graphics to 2.3 ghz and my computer froze so I pulled the power cord. Why did it freeze? All the voltages are on automatic, and I do not have a dedicated gpu.

Despite many on this forum saying overclocking a iGPU is pointless because it won't increase frame rate, I am seeing good results. On 1100 mhz graphics I got 22 fps on a 3d scene I tested with, at 1450 mhz I got 28 fps.

Just tested 1700 mhz. Resulted in 32 fps. 17.2% clock increase resulted in 14.3% fps increase.

My games are crashing repeatedly at 1700 mhz, what does this mean?

if your games are crashing repeatedly at 1700mhz it means buy a real graphics card lol. overclocking the integrated is rather pointless, and your still barely hitting 30fps. and that is a scene you were testing? how does it perform in a normal game?

porlly froze @ 2.3ghz because there wasn't enough voltage or it cant handle that no matter how many volts you give it.

Edit: what you are doing is pretty cool for a learning experience but yeah....get a graphics card hehe

THe crashing means your overclock isnt stable. The igpu isnt really designed to be overclocked, There isnt really a point to doing it and bumping it from 1.1 to 2.3 is a great way to break stuff. Its like breaking the knob off on a stereo so it will turn past its maximum, sure you can turn it further but its not going to make it work better, all you did was break it. Get a discrete card or use that mild overclock you had working.
