Hello I have the popular Q6600 G0 and at the moment it's stock at 2.4.
My question is given the below information about my system what do you experienced guys
think I should aim to clock for?

1. First things first I have 4g 800 ram.
( as far as I know this immediately limits my OC to 3ghz )

2. Secondly I dont want to buy extra cooling so here's my Case with
3 fans and a huge fan on top.

3. Here's my CPU's fan! "Speeze QuadroFlow VIII - Low Noise "

4. Here's my PSU (580W Hiper Power SLi Ready
( http://www.computerplanet.co.uk/pages/popup.php?type=prodinfo&v1=7278 )

I think thats all you need to know 😛
I'd like to note that I don't really like to OC because im just a bit conscious of melting
my pc. Baring this is mind do you think it's worth it for an increase in performance for games.
currently running the GTS8800 (g92) 512MB.

Thanks guys!

1.) 4GB of ram is fine for 3GHz, should have no problems.

2.) That's a good case.

3.) If it's better than the Intel Stock cooler, 3GHz should be possible.

4.) I'm not too sure about Hiper. You might want to buy a Corsair or a better brand instead.

OCing to 3GHz should get you some notable increase in frames in some games, it's worth doing so.

That cooler is seriously weak. You need a better one to do any kind of oc. Ram should not limit cpu overclocking if it's compatible and not faulty. I oced Q6600 up to 4ghz with 8gb ram, prime95 stable. The link on psu do not provide important information, like 12v rail ratings. If it has ratings typical of 580w psu, it should be enough, but you should check specs just to be sure.
