Overclocking on ASUS M5a78l-mUSB3

So I'm thinking about overclocking my FX-6300 to around 4.5ghz. Right now, i have it on 4.1ghz (Stock Voltage) on the stock cooler and temps won't go above 63 under max load for a while. I was planning on getting a Hyper tx3 OR A hyper 212 EVO, I would like to know how far i could take my overclock with these coolers on THIS mobo. All answers are appreciated!

That board isn't meant for overclocking at all , it has a poor thermal design , overclocking with that board may result in damage to your components.

For overclocking an FX cpu, use an 990fx chipset mobo

I wouldn't try to go any higher since that motherboard doesn't have any heatsinks on the VRMs.

So even if I get a cooler, I can't overclock over 4.1 at all? I've seen people get like 4.5 with the same configuration?

There's too much risk with that board , because of poor thermal design.

Cooler can't cure a poor board.

You can try. But there's a fair chance you'll overheat the cpu and do damage. We wouldn't recommend you trying.

Okay thanks, and you're right. Should i keep the 4.1ghz overclock or revert it back to stock?
