Hello everyone, my question is pretty straight forward. I have a MSI Gaming 5 z97 motherboard and a Intel i5 4690k. I was wondering if there was a setting somewhere in the bios that makes the CPU run at it's max clock all the time so it doesn't get all the way down to - lets say 800MHz - then have to run back up to the 4.2GHz I have it at? I'm not sure if this is a real setting but I thought I saw something about it on a ASUS motherboard.

If more info is needed let me know. Thanks in advance for the help!

Solution
If you are saying about keeping the CPU clock speed at a steady rate than changing, the feature is called intel speedstep. Yuo can disable it to run your CPU at it's maximum.
