Hello,

I recently bought new cpu Phenom II x6 1045t and a budget mobo Gigabyte 78LMT-S2p the stock speed on cpu is 2.7ghz is it safe to OC on this board? i have a aftermarket cooler on the way too. how high would i be able to OC

I would consider only moderate at best overclocks on that boards, It has no active or passive cooling on the VRM (voltage regulation modules) and pushing the voltage too far on the cpu could lead to complete failure

I would think perhaps 3.6 would be your upper end.

Also depends on what cpu cooler your running, stock cooler will limit your ability to overclock a lot

do you know how much i will need to raise the voltage?

and ill be using

instead of stock, that should be enough right?

All true. Though I am seeing ferrite chokes and solid caps on the voltage circuitry. This guy will probably hold up better than most in its price range. Still wouldn't exceed 3.6, like you said. In fact, I might limit it to 3.3.

Stock settings are FSB 200 = 2.7ghz

Normal Cpu Vcore 1.4v
Normal Cpu Vcore NB 1.15v

so i should just leave these at stock right, i dont plan on getting more than 3.5ghz
