Hi, I have a question on power consumption and a setting called max power or power limit...

I have recently bought a i7 7700k and have used it for a week now and was wondering how high can I let the power limit or max power go on intel extreme tuning utility software? I want to increase the power limit for better and more stable stock frequencies, but by how much can I push the power limit too, to still be with in safe parameters? And yes it is water cooled...

Are you setting your own clock speeds and voltage? I could be wrong but I believe power limit is somewhat useless if you're configuring clock speed and voltage yourself.

No I am using stock frequency of i7 7700k so about 4.2GHz and I wanted to increase the Trubo power max limit to have longer and more stabile frequencies at 4.5GHz

My question is only by how much can I increase the power limit of the CPU not to break it....also would it be benifitial to increase the power limit at all?

You cannot break it using the power limit feature unless you've increased the voltage or set the CPU clock speed too high on a Z series motherboard.
